Gateway East Becomes Arizona’s First Gold-Designated REDI Site, Boosting Economic Growth Opportunities in Mesa

Site Selectors Guild REDI Designation

Mesa, Arizona – The Boyer Company and Mesa Gateway Airport Authority (MGAA) are proud to announce that the Gateway East Airport Business Park has been awarded a gold designation under the REDI Sites program, a first-ever national standard for site readiness assessments. Administered by the Site Selectors Guild, REDI Sites provides a rigorous, standardized evaluation process for site readiness across the United States. This designation is a significant milestone as Gateway East is currently the only REDI Sites location in Arizona, and one of one sixteen approved sites throughout the country, reinforcing its position as a premier location for business investment and expansion.

The REDI Sites program launched in 2024, and administered by the Site Selectors Guild, provides a standardized and rigorous evaluation process for project-ready sites across the United States. REDI Sites assesses infrastructure capacity, ease of development, ownership and entitlements. Didi Caldwell, Board Chair for REDI Sites stated, “The Gateway East site receiving a Gold designation through the REDI Sites program is a testament to its readiness and strategic advantages for business investment. The REDI Sites program was developed to set a new national standard for site readiness, ensuring site selectors can quickly identify locations that meet rigorous development criteria. Achieving Gold status means Gateway East is in the top 15% of all designated sites and has a demonstrated high level of due diligence, infrastructure investments, and speed-to-market capabilities - key factors driving corporate location decisions."

“We are thrilled to be part of the REDI Sites program and receive a Gold designation,” said Matt Jensen, Project Manager and Partner with The Boyer Company, “This program not only aligns with our focus on promoting Gateway East and the area around Mesa Gateway Airport as a prime destination for investment, but also provides us with valuable feedback to further improve our site development options. Being listed in a national database of development ready sites is a significant advantage for our economic development efforts. The 270-acre Gateway East development is a public-private partnership designed to attract manufacturing, industrial, office and retail projects. Achieving a Gold designation under the REDI Sites program showcases Gateway East’s superior site readiness and its ability to support large-scale economic development initiatives.”

“The Boyer Company, MGAA, and City of Mesa completed much of the front-end work to make the east side of the Airport ‘investment-ready’. This included enhancing the zoning for the property, construction of infrastructure, and receiving environmental clearance on the site,” said J. Brian O’Neill, MGAA Executive Director. “Achieving this designation after a rigorous assessment by the world’s foremost group of site selection consultants, demonstrates that Gateway East is ready to attract major employers.”
