MESA, Ariz. — A fiscal year-end 2026 (FYE26) report revealed Mesa Gateway Airport (Airport, Gateway Airport) set new records for several key operational performance
metrics. The Airport set records in five major categories during the 12-month period that covers July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026.
- Passenger Activity:
2,007,655 (record)
- Operating Revenue:
$47,221,582 (record)
- Net Income:
$6,551,246 (record)
- Aviation Fuel Sales:
$19,593,095 (record)
- Vehicle Parking Revenue:
$5,868,592 (record)
The FY26 results are particularly notable given the headwinds facing the airline industry. Earlier this year, in response to sustained high fuel costs, Allegiant Air, Gateway Airport's
largest carrier, announced systemwide reductions in summer and fall schedules at airports across the country. Despite that pullback in capacity, Gateway Airport's passenger traffic and revenues remained strong, a true testament to the strength of air travel
demand in the Phoenix East Valley and the loyalty of the Airport's growing customer base.
“Back-to-back record-setting years confirm that air travelers have made Mesa Gateway Airport their airport of choice,” said Mesa Mayor Mark Freeman, Chair of the Mesa Gateway Airport
Authority (MGAA) Board of Directors. “Gateway Airport is one of the largest economic drivers in the greater Phoenix region, and each new record strengthens the connection between the Valley of the Sun and the rest of the country.”
Momentum is already building for FY27. Allegiant recently announced it will add 39 additional round-trip flights at Gateway Airport this winter, restoring and expanding service during
the Airport's busiest travel season.
“Fiscal Year 2026 demonstrated the resilience of Mesa Gateway Airport and the growing market it serves,” said MGAA Executive Director/CEO J. Brian O'Neill, A.A.E. “As airlines trimmed
capacity nationwide, Gateway Airport posted record numbers in almost every major operational performance category. Allegiant's decision to add more flights this winter reflects the confidence they have in this market.”
