Master Plan
An Airport Master Plan is a strategic, long-range planning document that guides future growth and infrastructure development. It evaluates current and projected demand and outlines expansion priorities over 10- and 20-year planning horizons in a financially feasible way. Gateway’s most recent master plan update was completed in 2020.

Since the release of the 2020 Airport Master Plan, Mesa Gateway Airport Authority (MGAA) has completed various improvements and adjusted a few of the proposed developments outlined in the 2020 ALP. These informal revisions, commonly known as Pen & Ink Updates, can be made to individual sheets of the ALP drawing set. The latest ALP Pen & Ink Update was completed in December 2024.
Gateway Tomorrow
MGAA recently completed the Gateway Tomorrow Eastside Terminal Planning Study — a key step in planning for the eventual relocation of the passenger terminal from the west side of the airport to the east side. The study outlines the square footage, acreage, and construction costs needed for the new facilities. The Gateway Tomorrow Eastside Terminal Planning Study can be reviewed below.
